Dan Theis 2011 YMDA Trip Chair Letter to all Members
June 1st, 2011
Welcome to the 2011 YMDA Ski trip,
While we are only recently acclimating ourselves to summer in the mid-‐West, the YMDA trip commitee is busy planning the 44th annual YMDA ski trip. Manor Vail will once again be hosting the trip in 2011 (December, 7th – 11th ).
If you were unfortunate enough to miss the 2010 trip, it showed that early season skiing can offer the potential of outstanding snow conditions and we are hopeful of the same for this year.
Regardless of the snow base, the staff at Manor Vail Lodge consistently adds to the enjoyment with their usual stellar service.
So now is the time to begin planning, mark your calendars and join us for what is sure to be a memorable five days of skiing. Space is limited to the first 120 skiers, so register early to insure your reservation. Skiers and snow boarders of all abilities are always welcome.
For those unfamiliar with Manor Vail Lodge, it is conveniently located slope side at Vail, giving easy access to the mountain. As in the past, arrival at Vail on Wednesday provides plenty of time to hit the slopes and become re-‐familiarized with your skis while the “get acquainted party” that evening is a great way to see old friends and meet new ones. New for this year is an arranged meeting time and location for “lunch on the slopes” at the Midvail lodge on Friday the 9th at 11:00 AM.
Pack your lunch or buy one at the lodge and take a break to share stories or use it as a convenient meeting place to connect with other YMDA skiers.
The trip commitee along with our travel guide, Tom Gray, works diligently to bring you an exciting trip at a great value. As mentioned earlier, space is limited and can fill up early, so register to reserve your spot. So why not do what so many other repeat YMDA skiers have done by scheduling a ski trip for early December with the YMDA in Vail. Start a tradition with friends and family that you will look forward to all year long and talk about for years to come!
Further details can be found at www.ymda.org See you all in December,
